Created as part of the AHRC funded Ambient Literature project at the Digital Cultures Research Centre, Watershed, Bristol, and winner of the if:book New Media Writing Prize in 2017.

Developed in collaboration with published author James Attlee, The Cartographer’s Confession is an immersive smartphone experience that takes place in sites across London. Combining fiction and non-fiction, imagined and real locations, it is a tale of migration and loss, hope and retribution. Personal cassette recordings made by cartographer Thomas Andersen, along with letters, notes and original 1940s photographs, lead the reader to the dark secret at the story’s heart. Featuring 3D soundscapes, illustrations and a bespoke musical score by group The Night Sky.
